
Ronald C. Whiting is a Senior Partner with Payer+Provider Syndicate, a management advisory and operational consulting firm focused on the managed care and healthcare delivery industries. He has extensive experience advising healthcare organizations on strategy, growth, and transformation. Ron brings a distinctive combination of executive leadership, consulting expertise, and systems-level thinking to complex organizational challenges across the healthcare ecosystem.
Over the course of his career, Ron has worked at the intersection of strategy, clinical program development, and multi-stakeholder collaboration. He has led and supported high-impact initiatives including mergers and acquisitions, development of new clinical programs, value-based care strategies, and the formation of innovative partnerships among hospitals, medical groups, and health plans. His work is characterized by a disciplined focus on aligning strategic vision with operational execution, ensuring that ideas translate into measurable outcomes.
Ron has held senior leadership roles at a variety of healthcare organizations, including within Kaiser Permanente in the Permanente Federation, where he focused on strategy and corporate development efforts supporting the Permanente medical groups across one of the nation’s largest integrated health systems. His work included managing complex transactions, advising executive leadership on emerging care models, and developing strategies to enhance quality and resource utilization across the enterprise.
He has also provided startup leadership for not-for-profit organizations, including a regional business coalition on healthcare and a multi-stakeholder health improvement organization focused on improving regional healthcare value and outcomes. Throughout his career, Ron has been recognized for his ability to navigate complex environments, align diverse stakeholder interests, and design pragmatic, forward-looking strategies.
In addition to serving on multiple Boards, Ron has advised Boards on board functioning, organizational dynamics, and board effectiveness.
